LVC Inauguration Art Installation Newspaper Article
When I was a staff writer at Lebanon Valley College's student newspaper, La Vie Collegienne, I wrote this article about an art installation designed to celebrate the inauguration of the college's new president in April 2013.
I interviewed the professor who created the installation about the creation of the art piece, including the lights that would display across the campus from the top of the science building and the recordings of students reading works about travelling in various languages. I also discussed the inspirations for and meaning behind the art installation. I also interviewed one of the students involved in the art installation about which work she chose to read for the installation and why she chose that work.
After conducting these interviews, I then wrote and edited the article before sending it to the editors of the newspaper for publication. Overall, I wanted this article to give readers a good overview of the creation process, purpose, and meaning of the art installation.
