Customizable Helmet Brim Trim Decals
I created these customizable brim trim decals for Cairns N5A/N6A Fire Helmets for Witmer Public Safety Group's customers using Witmer's BISIBI (Build It, See It, Buy It) product customization interface. Before designing the shapefile and design for the decal, I measured the bottom of a Cairns N5A/N6A to make sure that the decal would print out at the right size to perfectly fit under the brim of the helmet.
I created the decal's shapefile using the Pen tool in Adobe Illustrator. Then I edited the assets of a stock file of the Arizona state flag and used the Trim tool to apply the design to the shapefile, making sure that the general design of the flag was still recognizable despite the gap in the middle of the helmet's brim.
Once I finished designing the shapefile, I then uploaded the file into the BISIBI interface. Then I used the tools in BISIBI to create text fields that Witmer's customers can customize when they select this brim trim decal design on Witmer's Fire Store website.
Customers can enter their customized text and select the background, outline, and shadow colors for each line of text. This web page allows customers to easily design and visualize their custom helmet decals before they decide to purchase them.
